Sand dunes are a significant habitat source for plant and animal species. Restoring sand dunes helps maintain biodiversity and preserve ecological balance.
Sand dunes act as natural barriers against coastal erosion and storm surges. They absorb the impact of waves and wind, reducing the risk of flooding and erosion in coastal communities and infrastructure.
Sand dunes trap carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in the soil and vegetation.
